Sounding Coastal Change is one of the latest research projects implemented by the Open University.
A rebrand and website design for an interactive art project
Sounding Coastal Change is an “Arts and Climate Change” project, defined as “Social Process Art” using primarily sound to highlight and engage people around the issues of climate change.
TFA have completed many of these research projects with the OU but this one was slightly different as it involves creating and showcasing art as well as research. With this in mind, we set out producing a particularly creative website design with quite a different feel.
The project is very strongly rooted in the coastline of Norfolk in the UK. The coast is always changing so this has been chosen to be symbolic and representative of problems faced throughout society and using art to give voice to serious and political issues. Our branding development began with that as a starting point and evolved into the strong colourful logo you can see above, followed be design of the website and website development.
Unique and beautiful design for the academic sector
The brand and logo design was implemented as a centre point of the website which revolved around big beautiful images and audio recorded specifically for the project.
