Harlow College approached TFA as they wanted to begin a promotional campaign and advertising campaign that would both raise awareness of the college and its courses, but also emphasise the fact that Harlow College is ‘The Number 1 College in the Country’.
They wanted to achieve this through a mixture of leaflet designs incorporating an overarching advertising campaign image and guerrilla activities organised throughout Harlow on various dates in April 2013. They also wanted a hand-out design for their events that would look classy but also contain valuable information about the college and its achievement of winning the Beacon Award for Outstanding Leadership of Improvement.
Because part of the design brief was to focus on Harlow College winning the Beacon Award, we decided that a leaflet design and advertising campaign based around an Oscar-style statue would be both eye-catching and elegant. We combined the Oscar-style statue into the overall leaflet design; meaning that it was a unique shape and also able to ‘stand’ like an Oscar statue. We also paid careful attention to the colour schemes used and factored-in using a special metallic gold ink to really give the leaflet artwork a lift.
The design and production of the promotional leaflets and advertising campaign imagery were turned around and completed in a very short space of time in preperation for Harlow’s guerrilla marketing activities. They were also very pleased with the end-result; so much so, we are currently in the process of conducting a second profile elevation campaign that has run throughout 2013 and into 2014.
